  1. After riding every day 16miles to work and back my wrists started to really hurt. I got Trak1000 and love it more I ride it however my wrists are giving me trouble. I adjusted the bar tilted slightly higher but still no relief. It might be because this is my 1st road bike every day experience whereas before my rides usually had day offs in between. Now I am thinking is this just my body or a common problem with riders in general. If it is common then are there any exercises I can do to strengthen my wrists? Or eliminate it some other way? I love riding and I am little down about it.

    Thanks in advance🙂

Never heard of this before. My left elbow used to hurt a little and then I switched to a longer stem and it worked. I know that you like to do things yourself, but this is where your LBS could be useful to you. Ask them about it and see if they have any ideas. I doubt that it is your handlebar angle. Most likely your bar is set too low or your stem is too long. Either of these could cause your wrists to be stressed more than normal, especially if you have to reach far to grasp the handlebars. You might also just be aggravating a developing problem unrelated to biking. If you use a computer all day long, you might be developing something like carpel tunnel syndrome and biking just makes it flare up. Therefore, it might be something to mention to your doctor next time that you see him. Let us know what it turns out to be!

  3. The advice from my lbs was to keep my wrists straight. And generally try to keep them straight. Also, alternate between various hand positions while riding.

I am little confused on the straight part. The bar rolls down so no matter where you grab the bar there will be some angle wrist-hand.I have tried to grab on different positions on the bars and after few minutes pain sets in.
I am 5.11 and 165lbs and the bike is 56cm.I bought 56 since I thought this would be ideal however I am not sure now.Maybe 54cm instead?but 2cm should not be a huge deferance since one can push the seat closer or back.
    Thanks for the comments

Keyword here is after a couple of minutes. You are holding the handlebar at an odd angle. Your are compressing the same part of your wrist for a couple of minutes, and after a while it becomes pain. Change the possition of your hands before you feel the pain.

  6. try some oinments😉

  7. I knew a fellow who had the same type of problem. For some reason, he had lots of wrist / hand pain when riding. He tried to ride through it, but it didn't go. He (he says) ended up with some permanent damage and was forced to give up riding.

Something about his physical makeup I presume.

I suggest if it persist, you should go and see a doctor, because it should not be happening.

  8. Update on wrist pain
It turned out to be very simple but overlooked problem.I was putting too much weight on my hands due to the slope of the seat pointing down hence I was not "seating" on the bike properly.
To riders out there please make sure you are seating on your bike. Thanks for the comments.

So simple, who would have thought "seat angle"? Was it your LBS or a fellow rider that helped you with this?

I ended up with a little wrist pain on my ride today but it was the result of a hidden pothole that I hit. I didn't go down but my wrist sure let me know it was there!
