  2. The above video was from today's stage of the Tour of France.

The boys were drilling it at 35 MPH when a rider near the front fell.

Now you know how fast it can all go South. One second you're hammering with everything you've got just to stay on the wheel ahead of you. The next...you're doing a forward triple flip with a half-twist.

One rider flips and lands on his feet at a fast trot! Both lucky and good.

  3. That rough and tumble of cyclists are a common sight when the race is just starting and a cyclist gets our of timing. And when one cyclist hits another, that's the start of the domino. But as you said, they are running at 35 MPH, that's not slow. How I miss watching the races. Thanks very much for posting that video even just for the accident alone at least I saw a real race.

  4. I hope nobody was hurt too bad. Our ten year old girl broke her arm falling off her bike six weeks ago and is still in a cast. 🙁

    • Looking at last year and the start of this year I am seeing a pattern of increased group crashes with more notable riders involved.
  5. video is down, shame.

  6. I heard one guy cracked his spine. 🙁

  7. Yes but he sill able to finish the stage:

I have a family friend that broke his neck bicycling and when months with it undiagnosed. After he started feeling numbness in his arms, he finally went to the doctor.

  8. The crash scene as viewed from a mechanic with a GoPro:

  10. That video is down too. I saw the go pro one though and I hope no one was seriously hurt. Tragic events like these always leave me squeamish 🙁

Unfortunately, several riders were seriously hurt. Fractured vertebrae.

Northern coastal France and nearby Belgium have had pretty [censored] weather the last couple of years, during the first week of the Tour.

  13. It's always fun watching one guy bust his butt and end up wiping a large portion of the field in one fell swoop. 😄

However, I always want to see everybody get back up and race on uninjured.

    Turkish commentators? 😄

  15. Everyone else got deleted except the Turks.

I've hit the deck at 60 MPH (motorcycle) and those guys slid and rolled and bounced at least as far as I did. There was a LOT of hide scraped away in that crash.
