  1. Please excuse this naive post... but...I did a PB today. 57km with a sharp
8 km climb at the end in 1 hr 56mins. Had to share it with someone. My wife
said great and went back to her gardening. Nothing flash I am sure for most
of you seasoned bikers but special for me a 95kg 46 yr old. First time I
did the route (11 months ago) t'was 2 hrs 30 mins or so, with 10 kg more
    round the middle.

Thoroughly stoked. Average cadence was 91, average heart rate 157 bpm, avg
    speed 29 kph approx.

    I love cycling!

Well done mate! I'm also 46, 90+ Kilos and I got exactly the same reaction
from t' missus after a 5.5 hour, 120K bike path circuit round Melbourne
today. Wifes just dont understand. Mine's probably still a bit thingy just
'cause I'll be on the GVBR next weekend which means I'll miss her Birthday.
    Its all about priorities.

    Flaps.

    Nice work both of you!

Is a.b going to have to setup a trust for you Flaps, you
know, to pay for the medical bill when you return to
    your wife post-missed birthday? ;-)

Trust fund? I think a cricket box would be a cheaper, and more effective, preventative measure 😄

Medical bill? What, to sew 'em back on? Don't need them anymore anyway,
    already have 4 children.

But all donations gratefully received and will go to the BABBFFF (That's the
"Buy A Black Bianchi For Flaps Fund" )

Tax deductible of course, as I am a non-profit organisation. (I did mention
    that I have 4 kids.)

    Flaps.

Congratulations! I am a little bit younger than you and I am 27 kg lighter
than you and I still can not do 57 km in one ride.
But I hope to one day though.

what kind of a bike do you ride? expensive? light?

    Best wishes!
