  1. Oh woe is me (and plump too, I might add). I recently found out that several meds I am on cause
    weight gain.

It just goes downhill from there. I was sent to a new doctor for a separate condition from the above
mentioned condition who put me on yet another Rx which alone does not cause weight gain but when
coupled with another Rx I am on, does. Joy.

And it just gets better. My husband found out that his group is slated to be cut at the end of their
current project at his place of employment. This means I can no longer afford WW meetings at least
    for the time being.

And to top it off--ITS THE SEASON OF EATING FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!

I wish to goodness that my taste buds did not crave salt, fat and starch. I also wish that I could
    easily drop my tonnage.

  2. It's hard when the cards seem to be stacked against you, but you have not given in or you wouldn't
be here! I'm also on meds that cause weight gain, but I have found so far, that if I drink extra
water, it does seem to help. As to the EATING SEASON - (evil grin) - at least with WW's we can
enjoy some of it even if it is portion controlled (hopefully). The stress you have is the hardest
but hopefully, with the help of this group, you will get through this bad patch. Wish you all the
    best. Elaine K

  4. That's quite a number of obstacles you're facing. It may be that these are insurmountable for the
time being, but hopefully none will be permanent or have lasting effects. Even this holiday season
will end in a couple of weeks...

Sometimes, to help me change my focus from feeling like everything is against to regaining a sense
of personal power, I list the things I cannot change (as you've done here), and then I list the
things I CAN change (like the foods I buy, the foods I eat). For some reason, being able to see in
black and white helps me to realize that I always have choices about I respond to life's vagaries.

  6. Mrs A:

I have the same problem. I have bipolar disorder (manic depression) and most of the drugs that I am
on to treat it cause weight gain. I got off the worst one and was able to change it with something
that promotes weight loss but all in all I have a much harder time losing weight now that I am on
meds than when I was not.

Have hope though, I have found that with some of determination it is possible to lose weight. As you
can see from my stats I have lost 25 lbs since March.

As for not affording WW meetings, alot of ng members are not WW goers. They weigh themselves every
week and stay on plan but they don't go to the meetings...you can do it too!!
