I do not think there are major problems. They changed the manufacturing process late in the summer (to brush a sealant on the electronics) based on experience with the beta units. I expect them to be available soon and I think they will be reliable.

Here's today's response from PT regarding SL 2.4:

A few of these have started shipping, however production is not
currently at full capacity yet. We are taking our time with these first
rounds to make sure that every hub that goes out is a good one. We
expect all current orders to be filled by mid December. Thanks,

I'm not concerned. Our team is looking at using these next year so we can do some testing with our coach on them. Our manager loves the wireless so we won't need to transfer cords and cables to different bikes.

so where is the best place to order this without having to wait a couple of months. Here in Belgium they're selling it for 1600 eur which is about 2000 us dollars (but still not available)
