Cheers druidh, but could you keep up the dance for another 36 hours?
We're hoping to get to Weem for 5ish on Friday afternoon and I'd like
there to be at least a sprinkling of snow!

(Bought some fleecy bothy boots today. It's gonna be cold where we're
    going!)

You'll have more than a sprinkling I think - the main problem will be
standing up in the wind. Oh, and getting home again afterwards
    through the drifting snow ;-)

  4. I have been down working in the Trossachs hills for the past couple of
days and the snow is diappearing and getting a bit soft. However
forecast looks like more wintry weather in the next few days.

I thought that was the general idea. :-)

Have fun. I hope the weather does turn out fine for the course.

Isn't PW going on that trip? You'll be able to find out who has upset
    her.

  8. It appears, if forecast to be believed, that all of us on the east side
of the country are in for some winter skills training in the next few
    days?

That looks like a possibility for Mon Tue, However what is far more
interesting is the near perfect winter conditions that may occur in NW
highlands for much of next week, Clear, Bright, Cold, still conditions, and
a good covering of snow that has had time to consolidate. I doubt I will be
putting in much of an appearance at work much next week!

As for the winter skills lot in the southern highland (lawers area) this
weekend, Low cloud may not be too much of a problem, often breaking and
clearing the tops, however, that northerly wind (20 - 30 knts) is going to
    be absolutely cutting.

The best of any weather this weekend will probably be Arrochar Alps, with
    excellent conditions for southern uplands!

Yes, I'm picking her up tomorrow morning.

I think she's just got out of the newsgroups habit. I could give it
up anytime myself. Honest I could.

So could I. Thing is, I don't want to.

then you've failed to grasp some important aspect of the

Well I got the bit about the wind right :-)
