What about those of us that use telnet and raw NNTP? 🙂

I wouldn't consider that to be entirely accurate. I use either Entourage or
Thunderbird (work/home respectively) on Mac and have posted more than a
single message in that time frame. So why are mine not counted?Presaumbly these are the messages that Simon's news server, or his
local client still has copies of? Given the nature of usenet there's no
guarantee that any particular message will be included.Quoted message said:

Not all cyclists, only those that prefer Campag.

No they don't, not by a long way I'd guess.

Probably all do, just not as a desk top... If you read Simon's posts, or
mine from home then that uses Linux at some point..Just because you are sat in front of one computer doesn't mean that you are
not using others....d

Probably all do, just not as a desk top... If you read Simon's posts, or
mine from home then that uses Linux at some point..Just because you are sat in front of one computer doesn't mean that you
are not using others.Such pedantry would therefore suggest that anyone who posts and reads to
newsgroups also 'uses' Linux.I guess it depends on the translation of what 'uses' means.
I don't 'use' Linux at all, I 'use' Wnindows XP, W2000 or W98 depending upon
where I am and which computer I have with me .. 😉Obviously though, when a post leaves me, I have no control over where it
goes and what is 'used' to propogate the post, so I don't actually see me as
'using' Linux, even though it may be used to propogate my post to others.--

Using that definition everything I post from home uses Linux as its
packets pass through my Linux based firewall. I doubt the headers of my
posts reveal that though. -
