Will Puerto be archived?

Does this mean they are walking away from it....I take it that way.

The dealers, doctors, pharmacists of steroid drugs are seldom, if ever, harassed, and are given a light slap on the wrist.

The athletes themselves are NEVER legally harassed.

In America: The drug cheating guilty are always considered innocent.

Doping and commercial marketing are important industries in the USA.
They must be protected at all costs. Such is life.

Can't help but wonder if it is like a brick mason who starts to chisel out a few bad bricks on a modest house, to thus repair the house. But then realizes that possibly not only the whole house (cycling) could go down, but a few neighboring mansions as well. Then saying to the owner "I patched up the chisel marks i made, let's just leave this spot the way it is, when you show the house, walk the prospective buyers around the other side.

This may open the case even farther as cycling is concerned....... Now that it is not a criminal case, will they release the blood evidence to cycling organizations that have requested it ??????
The Spanish resisted releasing the blood before because it was an on going case.......?????? Am I right????

If the blood becomes available, the governing bodies need to determine who was the donors..... To eliminate the doubt that exsists...

Apparently Spanish authorities will release the information to UCI on the condition that it cannot be used to convict anyone, if I understood the radio news flash that I heard in the car yesterday. :o

My conspiracy theory: soccer teams were involved, and no one could risk that blowing up. Better to archive the entire thing and wait a while before letting Fuentes completely off the hook and pretending that it is only a cycling issue.

It's a good analogy.

The problem with Puerto is that people from other sports are supposed to be involved has PP said.
It would be convenient - from the sports authorities views - to quietly park this investigation.
If it's parked - it gives a getout to the UCI, the national federations etc.
Still doesn't instill credibility to a sport that will inevitably lurch to the next crisis.

Some of the information (of the Puerto case, which is investigated by court 31) will be released, some not. There are different reasons for this. One is that telephone taps, videos and photos were made without a court order and therefore illegal. Another reason has to do with the investigation against the leading Puerto investigator Enrique Gomez. Court 19 is still investigating Gomez and two other Guardia Civil officers for falsification of the Puerto report. Interesting is that when the judge (of court 19) wanted to hear somebody from the CSD (Spanish Sports federation which is a government body in Spain) about the possible falsifications, the judge was replaced...

Well, I got 32 kms behind me today and as far as Puerto goes...someone needs their a** kicked over this mess.

Yeah it is a very small race with just 40,000 participants. I heard Jan is the main guest..

No problem,I'm beat. Skied 4 days this week plus trained on the bike and have to go to a "Las Vegas Night" fund raiser tonight.
What I use to do all night takes me all night to do now.

According to cyclingnews.com the files for all the implicated riders will be now turned over to the UCI. "if new elements of information are revealed, then we can open up the files once again. For the riders, it's not over yet."
As if they will find new evidence, sounds like the UCI trying to imitate the Boogyman!
