Depends on how thin and flexible they are. If they allow you freedom of movement of the hand and
fingers and you still have enough tactile feel for the controls, go for it.

fingers and you still have enough tactile feel for the controls, go for it.

Some of them aren't very ventilated though - they'd probably get pretty warm in short order. Then
again, I ride in the desert, so I worry about things like that...

I've seen people use the Mechanix line of gloves, available at auto parts stores, as a substitute
MTB glove. Great tactile feel and there is a padded version for impact tool use.

I use O'neal Method gloves. They are pretty durable, comfortable, and black.

Is there a place online for ordering full fingered bicycle gloves?

I think a medium is what I need. Something that will fit tight. Is that about an 8 in the
numeric sizes?

And I cycle in the UK, so (apart from this year - total freak good weather!), I don't have to worry
except for in summer (1 or 2 weeks PA).

Hrm, I can use mediums pretty comfortably, and I'm a woman ... and no, my hands definitely aren't as
large as most guys'. So If you're a guy, and your hands aren't particularly small, I wonder if
medium is the right choice ...

Sucks there's nowhere nearby that you can try 'em on =/ Could you maybe accost someone wearing
biking gloves and ask to try them on, to get a fit comparison?

I tried the only brand at the local bike shop. The brand is Specialized. It was a large at
$34.99. It seem to fit OK but maybe a little big. I'm going back today and may get them. I didn't
want to spend that much or get an off brand. It will be cheaper to get those then to risk buying
a wrong size online. Going to try some of the motocross gloves as well (several motocross shops
in the area).

Yep! I use these as an intermediate cool weather glove, when moving from cutoffs to thicker
winter ones.

They work great as long as it's not too warm out.
