Who wants to help the wikipedia by writing up about ...
    -Cycling gloves
    -Cycling shorts
    -Smog Mask

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicycle_safety_equipment.

My efforts would be quite useless ...

Cycling gloves .. Gloves for when cycling. Also particularly useful when
doing a handplant at speed. Don't mix up your snot glove with your sweat
    glove when out riding.

Cycling shorts .. Make you look a little silly. Shouldn't wear if over 30.
You try one of those silly saddles without cycling shorts for 50 miles.

Smog mask .... a mask to stop you breathing smog. Makes my top lip itch.
    Also popularly used whilst rioting.

Smog mask - a method of increasing the average amount of air
    pollutants you inhale.
