  1. Anyone know where to get a basic type of road shoe (clipless), need a wide
fitting. All seen so far are very narrow. In Melbourne area.
    Cheers.

If you're just wide across the forefoot but narrow in the heel, try a
womens-specific shoe. I have wide feet but have found Sidi shoes to be
good and Shimano ones to be okay.

  3. There is a wide range made by Sidi called Mega, tho I haven't found
anyone on Australia stocking them. Too risky to order from US untried.
So I am stuck with New Balance walking shoes...

Let us know if you have any luck.

Have you tried shimano shoes? Cecil Walker have a good range of them.

I seem to remember reading an article somewhere (cyclingnews?) that Carnac shoes had the widest fittings.

  7. I have fairly broad paddles and Shimano have always fitted quite nicely.

  8. Sidi Mega are a wide fitting shoe - wider than the normal Sidi which are not
a narrow fitting shoe to begin with. I think the Mega Genius is their road
shoe and Mega Dominator the MTB shoe. I have a pair of each and they're
totally indistinguishable both in feel on the foot and when viewed from
above. When they're sitting on the floor of the garage I have to turn them
over and look at the sole to tell which is which.

I had trouble finding the wide fitting shoes in Australia and bought mine
new off an eBay shop - I knew what size I needed as I already had a pair of
the normal fitting Sidi in the correct size.
