  2. That's such a healthy attitude.
I'm trying to follow that example. For example, this weekend was my
sister-in-law's 30th. I ate too much bad stuff - so for this week I've
probably eaten way more of my APs than usual. I could sit here and worry
about it. But it's done, I had a good night, I've been good since, and will
be for the rest of the week, and so I'm just putting it behind me..... 🙂

  3. _WE_ all have to try doing that. It is perfectly natural to
have fun, eat rich foods and drink RICH drinks ON OCCASION.
There is nothing inherently wrong with that behavior. It is
not healthy to SUPERSIZE either portions or 'richness'
everyday of the week, week after week.

  4. Krys I KNOWWWWW your pain. I too am close to goal and like
you was playing the up and down dance up until VERY
recently. I finally broke through it. You be patient and you
    will too!!!

Your post reminded me of a recent lecture our leader gave on
2 seconds ruining your whole week and mind set. He said we
are all sooooooooooooo focused on what that scale says in
the 2 seconds we are on it, that it can defeat an entire
week's worth of good habits and set you up for a failure
mindset for the coming week. All from 2 seconds!!!! When
said that way it is so true. I was doing it. Our whole class
was doing it!! I myself stopped being so focused all week
about what that scale would say and stopped being so anxious
on the drive over to the center. I still had good weeks and
bad weeks since then, but man I am WAY less stressed
overall. I never realized how those two seconds were really
affecting me and interfering with just enjoying being alive
and living...particular during the up and down dance time
period. Did altering how I feel about those 2 seconds help
me lose more weight?...maybe, maybe not. But I am no longer
so crazed about it and no longer missing out on the here an
now because I was so worried about the coming Monday night.

I just really liked that lecture and thought I'd share!

    Hi folks,

Well, I'm still busy going nowhere - or doing the "three
steps forward two steps back" dance. I've not been posting
my WI here for fear of boring you all to tears each
week......so you get it all in one go today 🙂

So, let me see how the last few weeks have been :
there was the 2lb gain, and then the 2lb loss, then
down 0.4 again last week, and then up 1 this week. The
overall trend is a gradual downwards one - but boy is
    it ever slow!

One thing I have changed is to go back to once weekly WIs.
I was weighing every day. Now, this was all very well, and
it did sometimes give you an indication of trend but....
Well, it was taking me back to those dark days when my
daily mood was influenced by what the scales said in the
morning. Bearing in mind how much my weight can fluctuate
during a week, this was not helpful. Being up one day did
not mean I was going to be up for the week, but it did
mean I was down for the day! Even weighing the night
before was not a decent indication as to what WI was to
bring.... So, I've stopped it. I now weigh once a week. I
try not to think about it too much inbetween times and
allow myself to be guided by how I'm feeling, how my
clothes fit, that kind of thing. I stand on the scales
every Thursday morning, take what they dish out to me,
deal with it there and then. I sort my action plan for the
week ahaead, and then get back on with life.

This week I'm up 1 lb. I'm fighting off a sore throat, and
this week has been non-standard becuase of the holiday
Monday here - so there's that to take into account.
However, I'm feeling leaner, I know my shape has changed
again. All the walking I'm doing has noticeably had an
effect on the shape of my thighs and my lower back - and
that's what I'm concentrating on. It's just a lb, and it
could easily be gone again twice over by next week. Last
week is over, this is a new week, and we'll see what next
    WI brings 🙂

Here;s hoping this week is kind to us all - and if
anyone is hogging the whooosh fairy - send her over here
    please! *grin*

    Hi folks,

    you

    Quoted message said:

all to tears each week......so you get it all in one go
    today 🙂

So, let me see how the last few weeks have been : there
    was the 2lb

    gain,

    Quoted message said:
    Quoted message said:

and then the 2lb loss, then down 0.4 again last week,
and then up 1 this week. The overall trend is a gradual
downwards one - but boy is it ever slow!

One thing I have changed is to go back to once weekly
    WIs. I was

    weighing

    sometimes give you

    an

    Quoted message said:

    to those dark

    days

    Quoted message said:

when my daily mood was influenced by what the scales
    said in the

    morning.

    Quoted message said:
    Quoted message said:
    Quoted message said:

Bearing in mind how much my weight can fluctuate during

  8. hey hey,

well, last week I was up. This weekend I went a little
overboard. Ever since then I've had a rumbling tummy ache -
the adult version of the tummy bug my eldest had last week I
think - and so everything is not functioning as normal.
Today I was also up earlier than my usual WI - (which
weirdly does make a considerable difference) - because it's
    my daughter's 4th birthday.

So, I gave it some thought yesterday, and decided not to WI
this week. Next week will be plenty soon enough. One of
    those weeks when I just don't want/need to know - since I'm
fairly sure I wouldn't like it, and I don't want to be blue
on my little girl's big day. 🙂

  9. Krys,

Good job keeping the scale in perspective. It's important
not to let a simple WI affect your day.

    Best, Diane
