Funny you mention "male" twice. I was just pondering the fact that there are no SS'ing chicks! I
mean where's all the loving?

SS'ing is an all dude party and that's never a good thing.

I'll stick with the fun loving XC & DH double squish chicks.....you can have the
cantankerous SS dudes.

Slacker...go to El Moro Canyon in Crystal Cove State Park Tuesday's after work. There are some fine
women riding single speeds. They are climbing elevator....14 to 20% plus grade. They are way beyond
the shape I will ever be in.

HAHAHAHA, never happen. As a geared individual, I've already got 2 future, geared MTB'ers.My 9
y.o is already on a geared bike! While it's true one of them presently rides an SS, he is only
6!! hahahaha

Nah, what will happen is the multispeeders will use easy gears up hills, thereby saving their knees,
while the single speeders will use massive gears and blow their knees. The MSs will be trim and fit,
while the SSs will be cohabitating with each other in the recovery rooms of the local hospital.

I must be a statistical anomaly. I'm a geared rider, married to a totally hot (IMO) geared rider
chick and we have just successfully reproduced (it's scary how easy it was once we "pulled the
goalie"😉. Not many (any?) female SS riders around here that I'm aware of, but I'm not actively
shopping anymore anyway.

Let's extrapolate your logic a little further: If riders who stand more can reproduce more from
being out of the saddle, what about non-riders? They are never in the saddle, and may never wear
that sperm-inhibiting lycra (the whole boxers vs. briefs thing). There's many more non-riders than
riders out there so maybe it's they who will take over the world. Wait! They already have! We
cyclists are just a minority. Maybe instead of factioning and in-fighting , which just divides us
into smaller minorities, we should stick together, pool our resources and take over the world that
way? I think our already slim chances might be microscopically better that way.

I got nothing against SS. I still want to build mine up, but all this dogma makes me want to muzzle
people. Isn't it about the ride?

I rode 2 miles once thats ass of the seat. The reason was I was so badly chapped I couldn't sit
down. And that was on no dame singlespeed.

At least in the NorCal area the male to female ratio for singlespeeding seems to be about the same
as multispeeding. A major difference is that while female mtb'ers in general tend to be pretty hot,
the female ss'ers are even hotter. Oh mama! "SPANK... my booty. C'mon and spank my booty! SPANK...
my booty. Spank-my-booty-reeeaaal-good!"

Of course, there are always the exceptions... *shivers at remembering some of them*
