Precisely. I've got one on my road bike, whose speed is important. I don't/won't have one on my
mountain bike, where speed (and distance) is irrelevent.

I have a speedo on the Mtb, but you've gotta take it with a grain of salt. How can you compare a 30
mile level tarmac ride with a 5 mile boulder-hopping, mudpuddle splashing, mountain climbing
technical ride? Who cares how fast you're going then? And why would it matter?

yes me bad and annoying for being so anal. As I let go of attempting to control the uncontrollable
things in my life, I tend to focus on the ultimately meaningless. ;-)

I use one (Sigma Sport Targa that replaced the Cateye Enduro 2 that quit it's mount mid ride), it's
currently reading 1809 miles. It's a year old, was off the bike for quite some miles with a broken
mount (got new mount from LBS - £2), and is only used on the BASE, which isn't the only bike I've
been riding (commuted all last winter on an ice tyred SS, and been commuting again recently on the 7
speeder steelie, 50-60 miles a week). That means I've likely got in somewhere over 2K, in roughly 12
months, more than I thought by about 1000 miles, since this feels like it has been a really low
mileage year for me, with weather, illness/back problems/knee problems, moving house twice, getting
married and other general time consuming [censored] - have only been on a handful of club rides in 12
months, which sucks.

Wish I felt fit too!
