home straight. It was designed by the German design company, Schnellfahrt.
Stood on the side of the Champs waiting for Lance et co to arrive, The Unfit Family were stood with a number of Americans around. None were cyclists, but just happened to be doing the Paris bit of their European hol that weekend. The Unfit Family were stood there with bikes & wearing sweaty Randonee jerseys. One of the Americans looked at my Terry's saddle and said, "My sister is wondering why your saddle has a hole in it." So I told her. "Windpower" was my reply. Nathan & Vernon tried to pretend they weren't with me. Can't imagine why ;-)

With all the talk of "stomach troubles" this seemed appropriate, besides "The Paving Slab Fairy" is almost as cool as Heather. Bill C

I think she is seriously uncool for two reasons: the joke really has gone far enough, has been stretched and stretched and stretched, bweh. And two, bib shorts are *not* evil. See also phys.uu.nlbib.jpgOpen ↗

And usually it's not me who first mentions the evil of b*bs ;-)
As for cool, I seriously am - my nice chilled fruit juice with oodles of ice I happen to be sipping is cooling me nicely - seriously chilled ;-)

nope, i would never think of a clever reply like that. i mean, my name is "heather" and not something interesting like "the paving slab fairy".... (thanks though bill) heather

And her name is Helen. The "Paving Slab Fairy" is a running joke. She has a dislike of bib-shorts due to the fact that an awful lot of people who wear them use them to hold in their gut. She also had some pics posted of some of the brightest day-glo stuff you've ever seen as another reason. So if you are riding around Britain in bib's better watch out. Bill C

Hi Heather :-)
I can't actually claim to have *thought* of the response - it sort of just came out. It was a *rare event* - honest ;-)
Cheers, helen s
p.s. Quite a few people I've met, where I've been introduced with my name, Helen, then refer to me as Heather. Do you think we could be evil twins? ;-P
