If Rasmussen's ride up Alpe d'Huez won him the "most loyal domestique"
award, Moreau's ride today wins him the dumbass teammate award. His
teammate is in 4th place on GC, and what does he do? Attack the group,
get his teammate shelled, and for what? 3rd place on the stage? He
might have gotten that anyhow if he'd just stayed with the group and
    towed Dessel around.
    What a jerk.

  2. He'd be a perfect fit for T-Mobile.

I'm curious how you know that something like the following did not take
    place:

Moreau to Dessel: How you feeling? (In French)
    Dessel: Not so good.
Moreau to Lavenu via radio: Vincent, I am feeling good, Cyril is cooked,
can I go after Sastre and maybe get a stage podium?
Lavenu to Dessel via radio: Cyril, you ok with that? Can you finish
    without him?
    Dessel: Bon, allez Christophe.

It just seems to me that maybe these moves don't happen in a vacuum and the
people might actually talk to each other about what they're going to do.
Except for T-Mobile. Clearly their instructions are to forget their
heritage and Germanic reputation for precision and execution and race like
they are the German Sixth Army at Stalingrad.

Bill, remember you're on RBR and are therefore required to be a complete
dumbass and act as if the riders are stupid and you're the smartest person
    in the world.

Well, ok, but I also am assuming that YY knows more about racing than I do
(I am being serious) and am seriously asking if leaving behind a teammate
that is only marginally ahead of you on the GC is something that would
never ever happen unless it were a completely [censored] move. I'm better at
figuring out the conspiracy theories for why someone did an [censored] move
than whether any particular move was assholish or not.

With that in mind, the tactics of T-Mobile are now fairly obvious. The
Germans want everyone to think that they have completely forgotten how to
strategize and coordinate an attack. They are lulling us all (I mean
everyone who is not German) into a sense of security that we are all safe.
Soon, I suspect we will see them roll over Poland, again, on their way to
Polesti, kicking the [censored] out of Belgium, again, just for sport.

I haven't seen the coverage, but I just think Moreau is a jerk anyhow,
for no good reason other than he hangs his tongue out all the time...
I'll see if I can spot anything like Dessel flipping him the bird as he
gets dropped when I watch the coverage tonight.

As far as T-mobile goes, I think their tactical sense are dulled by the
pressure of those stupid looking breathe-right strips. Either that or
it's because the guy who is their road captain is the same one who cuts
holes in his technical baselayer and falls down all the time...

Well, while we might see them kicking the snot out of Poland again (after
all it took 5 years of war for the Poles to find out that they were at war)
Belgium is another story. I don't think that Tom Boonen is going to roll
    over so easily.

    | There was a tennis player who stuck his tongue out all the

Well, actually a rematch was scheduled. Sorry if anyone else on the planet had
other plans, but I was drunk at the time. I know that's really not any sort of
excuse for planning a world war, but it seemed the only sporting thing to do.

I was in Port au Prince, had been in Haiti for about six weeks and was getting
smashed on rum punches at the Hotel Oloffson. I met a German who'd been in Haiti
for over a year. He also was drinking rum punches. Does it need said that the
rum punch at the Oloffson is not any normal sort of beverage. First off, it's in
a French speaking Caribbean country and called the Oloffson, that's only the
beginning of the weirdness. So anyway we're smashed and I agreed to give Germany
a rematch. None of this mucking about with intermediary countries either, just
Germany v. USA for all the marbles, looser gets Haiti and has to otherwise just
    shut up and stay home.

We scheduled this for any time between 2010 and 2020, Germany gets first shot. I
know, but I was feeling cocky. Oh, no nukes, damned unsporting.

I suppose we'll know when it's game time.

Too many rum punches is as good a reason as there ever has been for a war.
