  1. I don't particularly find Lance Armstrong a particularably likable person. His books are fabulous
and he seems brutally honest on OLN TV. However most people seem to have a visceral hatred of him.
Many people feels he uses drugs to achieve his performance but the objective evidence for this is
nonexistent and it seems unlikely he could beat all the drug tests. Why do people hate him?.

Just a couple of months ago someone claimed that everyone on rbr thought LANCE was the "greatest."

  3. I like him, at least he is not a phony!

  4. Why do people hate him?.

It's not about the bike, it's about the money.

  5. Most people hate him because of his past. He was brutally self aborbed and never tried to be humble
in front of reporters. Granted, any athlete at that level needs to be self absorbed, but tame it
down once in a while, he has as of late since his return, and now people like him. Folks like myself
    still remember the Motorolla days.

They hate him for his freedom..

jealousy. Also, as you mention he doesn't come across as a likeable person.

  8. I think it is jealousy sometimes. I am not sure why people don't like someone that has done so much
for the sport. I mean without him the past several years would be much more boring, IMHO. He adds a
lot, with cancer and the TdF. He may come off unlikable to many people, but I don't like people that
don't speak their minds much and he just is himself and not some fake to try and make more money by
being so likable. He just rides the races he wants and that is that. I think it is cool. He doesn't
seem to mind the criticism about not riding more races. If he was greedy, maybe how would.

Why not? Most of the other riders do.

Nothing says excitement like making a parade of the Tour de France.

You should read his (1st) book. He wasn't *that* well off when he first got cancer. And WhoTF would
have paid him disability? Cofidis? LOL Social security? Maybe if he was a senior citizen.

WHy is it so important that everyone like him or get along with him? I mean, aside from his tour
victories, or being sick. Why is there this obligation to like him or get along with him? The guy is
still human and has flaws like anyone else.

Well, it does show that he's a risk taker. Consider also that he rejected a stronger chemo in favor
of one that would be less likely to scar his lungs and less likely to wipe out the cancer.

I think Lance is the greatest. Not as good as Eddy Merckx mind you, but since me and Eddy are the
same age and he now outweighs me by a couple of stone, I think I could probably outride the greatest
    living cyclist.

It is one thing not liking someone, it is another to attack someone like so many classless people do
here. If you don't like him, that is fine and normal, but there is no need to attack him. He is what
he is. If you don't like him so what? No need to attack someone all the time. It gets pretty old. I
mean we know 99% of these comments on Lance here are just trolls and I don't know why I bother with
any of it. I think I am done with it.

    Enjoy, Curt
