is greater in importance than "all of the above."

I thought you were a troll too but since you insist that you aren't, I'll try to explain it.

First off, not everyone agrees with the "boycott France" thing. It's kind of a knee-jerk response to
them not supporting us in the war. It didn't really do anyone any good either. It apparently did
hurt French tourism a bit. I'm not sure that it helped the U.S. in any way though.

Even if you support the boycott, there are plenty of good alternatives for most imported
French products.

The TdF, on the other hand, has no good alternative. I can't even believe anyone would consider not
riding because of the political situation. This is the big race of the year in terms of fame, money
etc. Lance Armstrong in particular has a good chance of making cycling history by becoming the
second man to win five in succession and the fifth to win five ever. Why would he give that up for
some silly unofficial boycott? It's not like he's going to have a lot more chances. It also wouldn't
really hurt France or the French in any way (assuming that was the goal). Not at all. It would be
completely pointless. Why should he hurt himself?

the TdF, and even a few years after Mssr. Armstrong commenced his winning ways. Even Armstrong, a

sporting aspect of the le Tour from the politics du jour.

The reason I am going to France next week is because of my hatred of the boycott. After Mayer
Bloomberg made his little statement that any American traveling to France this year was a traitor
