The sun never sets on the English empire...

I was going to put a one liner here but I think that this thread deserves more.

You have to hand it to the England. They are a country the size Ohio but they produce everything and produce it well. Cars, Aircraft, Boats, Guns, etc... Most countries are only known to produce a few things well...not England...They make everything well.

    British soccer

  4. I've always admired their strength and fortitude. I was kind of sad to see them join the EU, I've always thought of them as an empire unto themselves.

Margaret Thatcher was someone I always admired as well.

  5. double decker buses.

By the way, anybody know why British people are stereotyped as having poor dental hygiene?

  6. Football
    James Bond
Standing up in WW II when beating [censored] looked unlikely.
    the "westminster" system

  7. The Tower of London...Glad I wasn't a resident but a great place to visit. The tour guides "yeoman" I think they care called are too funny.

London, great city would love to visit again soon!!

Portsmouth...Rich with Naval history. You can see where Lord Nelson fell on deck and utimately met his death down below.

There so much more to see, just wish I had the time...

Spent a lot of time in pubs...Everyone was friendly...We laughed poked fun at "another country that shall remain nameless to preserve the integrity of this thread" and had a jolly ole time.

I also enjoyed being able to speak the language....🙂

  8. Good things about England :

English people are extremely tolerant people – when you consider the amount of different ethnic groups there – your average English person is tolerant.

London : fabulous place – easy to get around – plenty to see
    (have been there many times)

Bristol : beautiful part of the world, especially the drive from
    London to Bristol.
(if you get the chance read Brunel and got to see his
    railway and the Box Tunnel).

Bath/Cotswolds : beautiful scenery – very very nice part of the world.

    Lancashire/Yorkshire : beautiful scenery.

Victorian Era : England fuelled the Industrial Revolution : the
    most powerful empire ever.
The brilliance of the inventors, the sheer
    ingenuity of their workforce
and their advocacy of craftsmanship : all
    unequalled in my opinion.

    Faraday/Brunel : need I say more ?

World War 2 : England (Britain) held out for two years, alone,
    against a despotic Nazi
    regime.

Eurotunnel : Fantastic engineering feat (with the French).

  9. Cos it's next to Wales (bit of a downer for the Welsh, of course) and Wales has got some of the best natural AND man-made riding in the world.

  10. In England’s green and pleasant land
The summers are so lush, you can smell life it’s self.
    The roads are rarely strait
The NHS will care for you for free, a gift you will not appreciate unless you live in a place you have to pay for the gift of health.
The BBC, a name you can trust, a billion short wave radios worldwide can’t be wrong.
Education is free, whilst you’re a kid.
If you can’t find a job, the government will help you out.
If you cant look after yourself, social services will come and help you out
    The beer is bloody wonderful
People all have dogs and cats
    Eccentric is cool

It must be good, people from every corner of the planet flock to live here.

    .

Not when they come here they´re not , they tend to be xenophobic racists who treat the locals like dog doo , and god forbid you meet them after they´ve had a few drinks .............

  14. How about inventing and spreading the English Language?

Also Portsmouth isn't that great. I live there and most other cities I've been to are much cooler. Check out Chester, great shopping, and some really great touristy things to do.

  15. The English have very sexy accents! I just wish they'd get circumcised.

  16. Its next to the finest and sexiest country in the world...SCOTLAND..

can't think of any more reasons.

  17. English accents on men turn me on something terrible...but on women for some reason they make me think of a stern schoolmistress with a birch rod for unruly boys....
