No, but I did once for a few days in London when I started commuting
there and it seemed like the done thing. I changed my mind after a bit
of reflection. At that time (~10 years ago) nobody went over if there
were cars going across, it was only when the space was empty; I believe
that's changed now.

Nope, though I have sidled up a one-way before now, hiding between
parked cars when something came the other way.
