Schleck was actually celebrating Bettini because he was overjoyed that an Italian was winning a second World's in a row. He was sincerely thrilled and is hoping to come in third in the Lombardia also. He feels that this would be an excellent end to his season, and it is only correct that Bettini also double his victories in the Lombardia. And this will make all (ok, most) of us very, very, very happy.

But if Boogie will be able to start (he crashed on Friday during training) on Sunday, Paolo will not win Boogerd's farewell race at the Cauberg. Nice gesture from Paolo to come to Boogerd's farewell race. Bettini is the one to beat on Saturday (Lombardia) and yes I will be happy if he wins and salutes miss Eisenmann again...😄

Actually, jokes aside, I do not know whether Bettini will make at the Lombardia. I believe that his objective was to reconfirm himself as World Champion, and he is more than satisfied (in other words, not hungry enough).

Last year's GdL was so beautiful because of Bettini's situation. We need another emotional victory. Must be somebody out there whose mom just had a mastectomy or something.

it will be the usual supects... Bettini, Boogerd, Evans, Schleck, Rebellin, DiLuca's gone.. x him.. Sanchez, Cunego, maybe Ricco, Wegmann should be up there... is Kirchen still riding? if so that's his sort of race too. that Kolobnev was an animal at the worlds, he might do something. i think guys like Schmacher and Freire likely have less of a chance in Lombardia...
