    Tried and tested campsite suggestions wanted in the White
    Peak area of the Peak District with good toilets and
    showers and within easy walking distance of village for
    food and drink.

    Stayed years ago at Hope and Castleton. No idea if
    they're still going. Also Edale but the Peak gets
    "darker" at that point!

    A couple of nearby ones

    Park House, Monsal Head, 01629 640463 Small site, close to
    Monsal Head (pub, food, views etc)

    Greenhills Caravan Park, Bakewell, 01629 813467 Large,
    popular site just outside Bakewell

    good, though facilities are very basic.

    Also try Ye Olde Royal Oak, Wetton, Staffs (about 2 miles
    from Alstonefield). Nice pub, adjacent camping area,
    shower room.
