Which way round does the chain go?

Throw it away and get a cheap Sram with instructions. I could tell you how the link works,but don't want to feel responsible if you screw up.

Take it to a good mechanic and ask for help. Maybe where you bought it for starters. Does the company have a web site? If not then I agree throw it away and buy an new chain.

Well, I put the chain on and it works fine (so I don't know whether I was lucky with the orientation or not). Joining the special master link was easy (just pushes in it would seem), but I wouldn't know how to separate it again!

If you find someone who knows about the chain they would be glad to show you how it works. Again try the store you bought it from would be a start. It sounds like it is going to work fine for you. Good luck.

I wouldn' worry about it, I wouldn't the masterlink though just use a chain riveter. If you have to ask perhaps you shouldn't be doing it but we all had to learn to do it once. Not rocket science, just care!

Many chains that come with master links specifically warn against using the chain pins and a 'rivter.'There is a reason for it,altho some get away with it.
