Which is best ?

I should mention that i ride a mtb.

What would you recomend to look for in a slick tyre ? Or are they all pretty much the same.

Maybe you could recomend a good slick to go for.

i am not familiar with mtb slicks, and i am not sure if you will get much reedback from this community. try http://www.mtbr.com/ they have a plethora of product reviews.

Those are all well known tire brands, and they all make reputable tires.

A slick does not need any tread at all. I'd look for something in the 1 to 1.5 inch width, wider only if you plan on venturing off pavement once in a while. Unless puncture protection is a priority, buy the lightest tire in your price range. If puncture protection is important to you, consider the Specialized Armadillo line or the Continental UltraGatorskin and SportContact.

I personally have had much success with the Ritchey Tom Slick 1.4 inch with the kevlar bead.

The Conti Sport Contact in 26x1.3 is the top choice in Aus. 😉 The 26x1.4 Michelin would be a good second, however for 26" racing on the road, the Conti Ultra Gator Skin in 26"x28mm is the go! 😎

No. Slicks have tread. The don't have grooved or patterned tread.

I stand corrected. Slicks have a smooth tread, as opposed to grooved or patterned.
