One small step for cycling. 😉

I couldn't find the ad again, but Google produced this recap:

Funny misprint in the local papers Tuesday.
It was in a full-page ad for the 99 Cents Only stores.
They offered "99 Congratulations" to Neil Armstrong for "winning your 9th
    Tour de France."
For fans who only follow sports where a stick or a ball is involved, it was
Lance Armstrong who won his sixth, not ninth, Tour de France this month.
Neil Armstrong won a different race -- the space race. He was, of course,
the first man to set foot on the moon, 35 years ago this month.

    Dear Blair,

Some of our less well-educated audience might (God forgive
them) be puzzled, even though they might have a vague notion
that someone named Ruth played Eddie Merckx for the Yankees.

There is, however, no need for perspective in the case of
your fabulously-named alma mater. A divinely inspired
Supreme Court ruled in 1922 that baseball is entirely
different from other (and lesser) sports:

An act of Congress could prevent a certain team from Boston
from sneaking into the playoffs where it has no business
after coming in second during the regular season, although
some faint-hearted milksops might argue that Article 3,
section 3, clause 2 forbids such necessary legislation:

  6. lol. i was getting my hair cut yesterday and the woman cutting it was talking about how she took over the TV in her house during the week Spike TV had non-stop CSI episodes on. i laughed and said, "that's how i am during the tour de france. i'll watch the same stage 2-3 in a day." and she said, "the what?" me...."the tour de france.....the bike race?" nothing. she had never heard of it. 😕 the name lance armstrong rung a bell w/her but i felt kinda silly.

At work, I said, "The Tour de France is usually over a hundred miles per
    day."
My boss: "That ain't much. What kind of cars are they driving?"

At that point, you know you will pass him on the next
hill and then you will be his boss.

She probably knew him as "That guy who's dating Cheryl Crow." ;^)
