Where's your cyclocomputer mounted?

Whether the actual mount is leftor right depends on the meter.

Me too. It wasn't conscious decision.; The first one I got the LBS
installed it and that is how they did it. Ever since that seems the 'right'
way to do it.

Isn't this a question like "Which way should the toilet paper unroll?"

In my case, I've got the cyclometer on the right on two bikes, on the
left on two bikes, and I forget on the other bike.

And, BTW, our toilet paper unrolls over the top.

Wherever it fits. The lights go on first (and maybe the Air Zound),
and the computer goes in whatever space is left.

thing I would whack off with a hammer when it quits, mount everything
else first, then put it wherever there is room left....

I have two criteria on locating the cyclometer:
1,) There has to be room
2.) Put it where you can see it.

Regarding toilet paper, Frank, I bet you don't have a playful cat. We have
had to rewind a whole roll because we mounted it the way you did. But it
was sure fun watching the cat do it.

We had a wonderful, wonderful cat until about four years ago.

He was never the least bit interested in the toilet paper. But he
loved to bat at drops of water on the floor. I guess each one develops
its own hobbies!

Mine's sitting in a baggie in a box in the back of my workshop. The
battery died a year or so ago and I decided it wasn't important enough to
replace.

CMIIW but I think it became the custom to put it on the right because people
remove their front wheels fairly often (at least people who put their bikes
on a rack or in a car do), and the quick release is on the left. Less
chance of bumping the pickup unit accidentally?

Also, many handlebar-mounted lights go just to the left of the stem,
although that can be switched easily enough.

That's the side closest to where you want it.

The bar on my city bike has very limited space for pointing the LED
straight ahead. I put it on the left and the cyclometer on the right
very close to the stem.
I recently acquired a free AirZound. The hose routing made it
necessary to mount it on the right where my bell was. I moved that to
the left
