Toyota-United is a D3 team, with the associated budget. Worse, they
rely on individual sponsorships sold in $25-100 increments to
supporters. You can imagine that this might limit the budget somewhat,
and I'm sure Frankie ain't cheap. Simply put, missing the Tour de Nez
was a convenient excuse to unload budget.

Being an attorney you know the real reason for his silence, he knows that
Frankie is thinking of legal action and doesn't want his works to bite him
later.

I felt really bad when I had to terminate a distributor that I had known for
years and could only tell them that it was "business reasons" for the
termination. It sucked but they decided not to sue so I received a lot of
attaboys from senior management.

If it was for legitimate business reasons, there would be no grounds to sue.
What was your senior management worried about? I've not renewed contracts
for business reasons and had no problem telling the contractor why. Never
been sued either. I've also terminated contracts for business/legal reasons
and given those reason in the letter terminating the contract; was sued and
I then won summary judgment.

Brian, a friend knows both of them (Sean and Frankie) and he says that he heard
that FA's contract allowed him to miss one race. He had missed three at the time
that he got fired. Whether that was simply an excuse or not (due to lack of cash?)
is unknowable at the moment. The testimony didn't enter into it.
