All I can say is, Oh shyt what a mess.

Hamilton is boned. It looked like he would be able to jump right back in the game and get a contract with a ProTour team next year--maybe even Phonak/iShares. But with the latest doping scandal the UCI is in full cover your ass mode. They will thrown anyone they can under the bus to prove they are doing something about the problem, and Hamilton is an easy target.
How will he get a contract when the president of the UCI himself has made it clear he wants to ban Hamilton for life? That uncertainty will make it hard for a team to justify allocating a portion of their budget for Hamilton when they could get someone who is not under a dark cloud.
By the time Hamilton's lawyers get the situation sorted out, next year's season will have started.
