As part of my ongoing vanity trip, using an online avoirdupois-metric
conversion and the tdf.olntv.com website, I've once again stacked my (highly
unusual) physical measurements against the riders in the Tour to see if I
have a physical twin anywhere.
Me: 1.81m, 62 kg
Michael Boogerd: 1.79m, 62 kg
Sandy Casar (FDJ): 1.79m, 63 kg
Ludovic Martin (RAGT): 1.82m, 64 kg
Juan Miguel Mercado (Illes Balears): 1.78m, 58 kg (!)
Jean-Cyril Robin (FDJ): 1.79m, 63 kg
Stéphane Goubert (AG2R): 1.78m, 64 kg
Grischa Niermann (Rabobank): 1.78m, 63 kg
Manuel Beltran (USP): 1.78m, 60 kg
Richard Virenque (Quick.Step): 1.79m, 65 kg
I dunno... seems like an awful lot of Frenchies. Seems like most riders my
height are 8-15 kg heavier than I am. It seems, based on that list, that my
BMI range would be associated with peaky, inconsistent form and if I gained
20 pounds I'd almost be better off.
Then again, how many of you Freds can say you weigh less than Sandy Casar?
😉
(Yes, I know I won't stay that way forever)
