yeah, about 25 years ago. I was in a race once with Marc Brandt that he won
despite having a broken foot. His heroics were written up on the front page
of the SF Chronicle's Sporting Green. Is that section still green? After
that same race (Berkeley Hills RR) Alexi Grewal got in my face and called me
a F'ing wheel sucker. He was right.

Depends. I had a hairline break once, the doc recommended
shoes with a stiff sole. Like cycling shoes, I thought.
I was able to ride for hours at a time when walking was
not comfortable at all. So I guess it depends where and
how big the break was.
