the recumbent bug has bitten, & Im after a new or
secondhand 'bent.
are there any good places to look for secondhand bents out
there? Ive found the mainly-Merkin list at IHPVA, and the
occasional sniff on eBay.
Im looking for something like a Grasshopper, Street
Machine, M5, Hurricane, Mistral, etc - short wheel base,
ideally under seat steering, I like suspension, that kind
of thing. I want to commute on it with small panniers and
go for pleasure rides.
In the past year I have seen a Hurricane, Street-machine and
a few others for sale on Ebay. So if you wait for long
enough one will come up.
If you are able, your best bet may be to look abroad.

to D'Tek near Cambridge & am steeling myself for 5 hours
traveling visiting London Recumbents and Bikefix ...
yes, my expectations on cost are realistic. 😉
Second hand recumbents also tend to hold their value better
than other bikes so you may not be losing out big-time by
buying new. An exception to this rule is if you are not sure
you want a recumbent - I bought a cheap one then upgraded it
when I was sure it would be worthwhile.
It can also be cheaper to buy a frameset + parts than a ready-
built recumbent.
