That's exactly what my problem is! A lot of the time when I'm hungry, I
can't figure out what I want to eat (sigh). I just can't decide. So, I
tend to skip the meal instead. It's one way to diet, I suppose. Oh
    well.

I usually think of something starchy like mac'n'cheese. Then the cooking time
narrows it down to a 15 second peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Well, when I get lazy I end up in the boxed tuna section. I recently
discovered a brand which is wonderful and costs less than many other brands
I like, but is way better than all the competition. It's San Cusumano from
Erice, Sicily, the red box line (don't know how the blue box line differs),
it costs a little less then the spanish Consorcio and is much finer and
tastier. Just tuna, lettuce and bread, and some mayo if I want it richer.

I spent a looooooooooooong time in the Army where, out bush more often
than not, you forsook food for sleep/rest. It became a secondary thing.
Then there were the times when you could feel your body/energy waning,
so you shovelled something into your mouth....... it didn't matter what
it was because it was fuel.

I remember sitting across from some guys in a Mess Hall in a Military
training camp in Russia. We were served a dish that they started to turn
their noses up at and push away.

My advice to them was "Don't look at it, don't smell it, don't turn it
over. Just put it in your mouth and eat it. It's protein. It will keep
    you alive."

    We were eating dog chops.

It's just recently that I have come to 'see' what wonders different
    foods can be.

Exactly! "I guess I'll have a glass of wine while I think of what I want to
    eat."

And it will probably be the nearest carbo.

Cheese for me too. I'm so crazy mad for that Rembrandt Gouda lately that
I've been going through a wedge in less than a week. Also the Windsor
Red is so much a hit here that hubster added a big wedge of it to my
Mother's Day chocolate "love offering" basket. Yesterday I bought some
soft butterkase called "Bruder Basil" which has a slightly smoked taste.
    Cheese is my weakness anymore.
