  1. I'm sure this has been asked a million times in this group but:

What does a cyclist that's in contention for a win do when he has to
pee? I realize that due to all the perspiration the problem probably
doesn't come up too much...and I have seen guys drop from the peloton
to take care of business. I'm sure it also depends on the person, but
if he's in a situation such as being on a breakaway and just can't
hold it any longer might he just let it go?

I got an old Tour tape from WCP, 89 I think where Delgado was filmed
standing up on his bike turned to the right, one hand on the Lizard and one
hand on the handlebars. Others pee there pants, even [censored] in them if they
must. Lemond has the splats in the tour one time according to Kimmage.
Pretty stinky to draft, even several lengths back I would think. I used to
climb with group of riders with this one guy that used to fart a lot. I
always found myself sprinting ahead. ick, probably beans! I think for the
most part riders manage without doing the unthinkable. I think Lemond also
stopped to pee and then made up the lost time. Most riders probably do that
or do it on the bike like Delgado did.

If you're saying tha a WCP tape is the only time you've seen someone
doing this, you might want to try racing your bike a bit more often.

I'd like to ignore a lot less of it. You really need to sell your point of
view on how this should work before GMSR. It amazes me how many people [censored] on
a front lawn and not in the woods. Must be an exhibitionistic trait that runs
    through male cyclists.

They showed Aitor Gonzalez doing this during the Vuelta a España on OLN last
    year (discreetly, of course).

The example was for the poster but I've seen it enough times, but myself
personally I never had that problem even on long rides. Take in fluids like
crazy and nothing there to [censored].

    What the heck?

That would explain some of the vehicular manslaughters lately.

Has to do with marking territory. There is a certain radius. With Mountain
Lions I believe it's 50 square miles. Anything that enters that zone could
    result in a pissing contest.

I seem to recall having to pee on a couple rides, but it's extremely
rare. (I just wait till I find a restroom.) I have a hard time keeping
    the fluids topped up.

go to the back of the peloton with a team mate. Roll your short's leg and
whiz out that side while your buddy pushes you along. Roll down the shorts
and then continue racing. Some will get permission and do a mini breakaway.
When down the road they pull over and take care of business. At that point
the peloton should be coming through and you hop back on.
