I once heard an anecdote involving misuse of the verb "to shake", in
reference to a salt or pepper shaker if I remember correctly. Someone
actually came up with "agitate with great vigor" or something to that
effect. Ah, the joys and perils of translating. :-)

Congratulations on the job by the way. I have to assume you'll do
better than the example I've given, or Happy Bike Team for that matter.

London-Edinburgh-London or the Gold Rush Randonee or rides out to a

I'm getting a good giggle out of the Bikes of China series. I don't,
however, think I'll ever see some of the custom framebuilders here try
to emulate the anti-clipless pedals. Thanks for sharing the sights and
adventures.

It isn't exactly a position that comes with any money per se (though my
constant failure to get the bill when I go out to eat with the bike
club may count as compensation) but should I ever go looking for a job

They've got a bunch of new jerseys in. Almost tasteful. And as you

Unlike the regular Giant jerseys, the Shimano jerseys, or the other
jerseys these are not up for sale to the general public. It's a
question of being allowed to buy them.

On the front, just above the Giant logo (which, going with the almost
tasteful theme is merely large rather than huge) they have a logo of
three bike racers and the Chinese phrase "海南快乐车队". On the
back, just under the Giant logo it says Happy Bike Team.

You people are pretty clever. I don't think I need to tell you who
wrote the English.

They'd be wanting Chinese coverage of le Tour rather than English.

We just have to pick the right locations and it's easy to outnumber the
non-bike nuts, the problem is that the right locations for outnumbering
are unlikely to have big enough televisions for us to crowd around, let
alone satellite coverage.

Babelfish comes up with "Joyful Motorcade" which is what they might
have written on the jerseys if they hadn't asked me.

Knowing that I'll be getting an all night phone call on Saturday I
decided to prep for being on US time by staying up all night Thursday.
So, I've had a lot of time on the internet and am kind of cringing to
think what my net bar bill is gonna come to.

I've fixed a lot of typoes, put in most of the paragraph tabs, fixed
capitalization, and corrected the broken guestbook links. School is in
two hours and I'll have more chances to go hunting the wild bicycle.

Given how tired I am I may cheat a little and pick up a few tame
bicycles from the parking lot.
