You can't really compare runners (marathoners)
with distance (ultramarathon) and mileage (5000).

In any case, if whatever you have achieved or
are aiming to achieve, impresses you, then it
is impressive. Why do you care what others think?

  4. Who cares John? Just keep running.

  5. A grilled cheese sandwich is more impressive than any of those choices.
Impressive is when you bend to help a small child, not when you
mindlessly jog for hours on end. What's wrong with you?

  6. A constructive comment about running from webtv
    would be very impressive.

  7. Is there an "all of the above" box for this question?
How about a "none of the above" box?

    "... help a small child ..."
    Dude, isn't that kinda philanthropic?

You've failed to live up to your usenet name, Craig.

    How about "RICK'S AN IDIOT"?

He bends to touch them. Does that count?

Actually, in this case I suspect "bend to help a small child" has
    pedophilic overtones...

  13. 2×26.2= 52.4
    2×50=100

to whom? i can tell you that the average non-runner would be
more impressed by anything with the word "marathon"
in it. not ultra. just plain marathon. they barely understand
what it takes to run one, don't ask them to figure out the
    quantum leap to 100 milers.

and you only need to do one to get the rep. after that you
can focus on impressing fellow runners (who actually won't
care at all about what you've done anyway).

well everyone's refused to answer your question but clearly 5000 miles a
year is the most impressive feat. 90+ mpw for an entire year is pretty damn
    impressive.

Impressive is Monica Schultz's 23 100 miles races in one year or my
friend that has not missed a day in 27+ years. In my world all the
first three are very common place. I'm not impressed with total milage
unless it's mileage in a single event like the Sri Shinmoy 3,100 mile
    race.

You seen to run about 100 a week and likely hit the 5,000 mark. Other
than buring off calories what has it done for you?

    Yo, Jobs 🙂
Well, I'm just darned good. Any day with running in it is a good day. I just
do two miles a day three times a week, but I rejoice every time I am out there.
This time of year there are bald eagles perched on ice floats along my river
path. It's glorious. So glad someone bought me a pair of running shoes as a
gift 30 years ago. That has made all the difference.
    Happy running!

Sounds like you are in great spirits.
    I'm really happy for you.

    Keep running.

Here's to 30 more years of running!
