happens. but if there were more real posts the dumb stuff wouldn't
seem so overwhelming. i'm running tomorrow morning. 13K scheduled.
maybe i'll go 16K if i can. i'm on vacation and i find without
the structure of a work day my training falls apart.
how about you?

training falls apart. how about you?Huh. I'm the opposite: without all the time and stress of a work day
(and with the excitement of new locales, and often much better running
environments than here in NYC) my training really flourishes - although
I found out last year that if I need to take down a tent, cover x00
miles, find a campground, and get the tent back up before dark, it
takes some work to squeeze in the running I want to do.Frank, when you're at home working, when do you run?
Before/after/during work? -
You saw a bunch of ill mannered, idiotic posts in
here.................so you thought one more wouldn't hurt? -

I'm new here (and running again) and I've gotten such posts too...Being mean
takes *no* talent what so ever eh? So, that explains it I think. ;-) I've
also noticed the level of ummm, off topic posts shall we say? <grin> I
just try to wade through them. I'm hoping things pick up a bit - on topic
stuff that is.Take care, JJ

I haven't done this yet but I'm considering it. I follow a few ng's and
this one is by far the most, ummm, interesting. I don't have a killfile for
those others, but may for this one. It's pretty messy sometimes. It's a
thought. JJ -
I monitor and post to a half dozen news groups that are specific
interests of mine. On some, have been doing so for six or seven
years. I notice that to some degree, all of them have become junked
up over time. On one group almost all the original posters have left
and I'm about to do the same.A shame.

when i'm working, i run before work. earliest so far was a 4:30
on-the-road start. that allows me to get in 25K, shower
and be at my desk by 8:00. i'm not much of a runner
so this year's marathon training will only have 2 more
long runs (less than 30K). i can do that in the
morning.

Oh c'mon now JJ, this is usenet, where would a NG be without trolls?
It comes with the turf, and personally I think it's fun, and breaks up
the monotony of "I got a sore leg, what do I do?" posts that dominate
this place.TBR

There are several, but one of them is simply to get someone
to reply to them. In this case, the troll 'won'.I've been here for 5 years and use my killfile when needed,
and have very few interruptions or problems.A few of the trolls like changing their email address fairly
regularly to circumvent this, but it takes more time and effort
to change an email address than it does to block one, so
although I (and I am sure many others) may have to block a
sender or two a couple times a week, it's nice to keep in
mind that the majority of the messing around in this process
is on the part of the troll.cheers,
