Sell it to a short-distance commuter (or fred, or both) for a $100 or
two, depending on its initial quality. That's what I'm going to do with
my 7-year-old Proflex when I can finally replace it. Already got a buyer.

Don't dump it into a body of water. A bicycle has all sorts grease, oil,
paint, etc. that will pollute the body of water. Donate it to a local
charity or give it to a bike shop and ask if they can do something with it
or give it to someone who can fix it up and use it or leave it leaning
against a wall in the busy part of town (someone will eventually wind up
taking it). Just don't pollute our water more than it already is.

organizations looking for bikes for needy homes. You may get a tax receipt,

A few years ago, my then roommates and I had a fridge we needed to get
rid of. I told one of them to place it in the alley behind our garage.
About 4 days went by and nobody took the bait. My roommates asked me,
"Now what?" I told him to slap a big sign on it "For Sale $50" Sure
enough, someone "stole" it that night :-)

I am 25, but what does that matter. I am no more of a troll than you are. I
wanted to see what other do with their old bikes. Mine likely will get
stripped, and the bad parts chucked. the usable parts will get put in a box
for when I need to fix my bike, or someone elses.
