Had the same thing few weeks back, so did my friend, both got it on the same day but i managed to kick in about a weeks time but he got stuck with for a gd 4-6 weeks, what you should try and do is just start of with V.easy rides just spining then as you start feeling better grdually build it up

  3. I'd say complete rest until all the symptoms are gone. Nothing worst than a relapse which is much worse. Good luck.

Getting back into riding after a cold can take a while. Some athletes can loose up to 10% or more of their endurance after a good bout of the flu or a cold. Take your time and realize that it could take a few weeks to get back to where you were before the cold.

During a cold, you can usually train through it as long as you reduce the intensity/duration to compensate. If you have a fever (i.e. flu), then it's best to not train and to give your body the time it needs to fight off the virus.

Agggg someone had to put the voice of reason at me. I am on my second day off work with the flu with a long week end coming. Add this to the rain I cant see me going out for much riding, might try and sneak out before the missues see's me on Sunday. She will catch me at the same destination and tear strips off me, but it will probably be worth it. 😄

When I was younger and trying maintain over 300 miles per week, I used to find a light spinning workout (about 20 miles, low gears, and no hills or headwinds) soon after the fever broke was helpful. Also, dress warmly but do not overheat, and drink lots of warm fluids after the ride (not coffee).
