hello all I'm new to this forum and am hoping to get some info from all you experts - for a variety fo reasons I had a good road bike in storage and have now taken it out. I used to race and don't think I will anymore so I am wondering what to do with this road bike. Should I sell it whole or break it down into its components ............what it is Basso Columbus SL frame (same one on Rennaissance bikes for $400) size is 55 Modolo Professional brakes Concor white saddle Cinelli bars Mavic Open 4CD wheels Campagnolo gears/shifters/derailleurs Dura Ace crankset and pedals with clips
If I won't get decent money for it I will most likely keep it and see if I can't get some different wheels for it (wider) any help is appreciated can send email pic if you like

You may run into clearance problems with too wide tires using the rims you have.

First decide if you want to ride again.... and if so put on some 28 mm tires to check the fit. If you aren't going to ride, decide if you want to go through the hassle of parting it out... you may make 10 -20 % more that way.... but you may spend 50% more time and effort.

thanks for the info - I do want to start riding again but seriously doubt I'll race. I will look into the 28mm tires
do you have a wild guess as to what the whole bike might be worth? Everything is in 8/10 condition thanks again Karen
