My personal choice would be Ti frame, decked with carbon goodies. That's a money no object, spoil
yourself, gotta look good approach though!

I'm sure the next poster will say 'steel rules', like they do on bicycles.misc!

Just go the whole hog and get a Cannondale Saeco Team Replica not sure on the price but at least the
do a full range of sizes 48cm-63cm.

Funnily enough, I did call my account manager "darling" a while ago. Occasionally, words that I have
no intention of saying slip out of my mouth. Quite recently, on receiving a drink from the landlady
of a pub I'd never previously been to, I said "Thank you, sir."

The bank lady didn't seem to mind. The pub lady merely looked confused.

To my mind, the steel Colnago models always look a bit more flashy, thanks to the nice lugwork
and extra chrome. If money's no object, you could always opt for Merlin's flagship Cielo model -
the one with carbon tubes bonded into very ornate Ti lugs. Very nice, very costly and almost too

You know what you must do, and it involves a comfy chair *and* vastly superior aerodynamics to any
of the above. If you're not actually racing or out with the Chain Gangs then there isn't any reason
to conform to the baroque requirements the UCI have for being a bicycle.

Something like a Challenge Taifun or HPVel Speedmachine, or go for 3 wheels with a Windcheetah or
Trice Micro. Go fast and have somewhere comfy to sit that lets you see where you're going better.
You know it makes sense.

If you have an irrational fear of comfortable chairs, do consider things like the Airnimal and BF
Pocket Rocket, which are still very capable sports machines but can be stowed safely in a case for
your next holiday.

I would actually like to own a bent, but I would also like to do a spot of time trialling and I
can't do that on a bent with my local club.

I get the impression from your original post that you're as bad as each other - both trying to sweet
talk each other into buying bikes. I wish I had that problem! I've been trying to persuade my wife
to let us get one of the Greenspeed convertible solo/tandem recumbents. I've still a long way to go,
but I'm making progress. I'm sure us moving to the home of Greenspeed (Australia) later this year
might help!
