Al Trautwig.
that dude that's "embedded" w/ disco.
he doesnt know [censored] about cycling and never asks good follow-up
questions. andreu would be a much better choice, but this lightweight
would fare even worse asking questions of teams that dont feature lance
and cheryl. he should stick to AVP volleyball.

What annoys me the most is that I think the OLN Yellow jersey is
pretty funny. I should hate that damn thing.
Secretly I might even want one... but could never bring myself to even
put it on, let alone wear it out of the house.

I think you mean Jason Lee.

That doesn't bother me. What does bother me is OLN blowing most of thier
cycling coverage budget on one race. Someone should tell them there are two
other major stage races that deserve better coverage than what they are giving
them.

Chris Daggs is coming to your house?
On the other hand, the Capital One commercials are great.

I tried that, pointing out in an email that many loyal OLN viewers
would be interested in again seeing expanded coverage of the Giro and
the Vuelta as in past years, as opposed to round-the-clock bull riding
and animal killing (hunting and fishing) programs. I did not receive an
acknowledgement to my email.

It won't help. Lance doesn't ride those and they only want to cover Lance.
They'll cover the rest of the race to the extent necessary to talk about Lance,
but not to the extent that it might interfere with their Lance coverage.
No Lance, no coverage.

Bingo...it's like network TV coverage of golf...all Tiger all the time. They
aren't covering cycling to please the die-hard cycling fans. They are after
ratings and the resultant advertising dollars, and to get that they need to draw
the casual fan (same thing with Tiger). It's about the $$$$$$$$$.

Thing is that cycling is supposed to be a TEAM sport, unlike golf. When
the red sox won the series they didn't just yammer endlessly about
Manny Ramirez (or whoever) and forget everyone else on the team! Fans
would never put up with that... it's unfair to do that with cycling as
well. Maybe because it's a SPORT...hello... not a variety show?

Just 5 years ago we couldn't even get descent coverage of the Tour de France
on TV. Now OLN gives us GREAT coverage and the sissies are crying that they
don't like the comercials.
What a bunch of whining little babies.

Point taken, but out of every hour we get 20 minutes of commercials,
20 of "Lance this, Lance that" and then MAYBE 20 minutes of race
coverage.
It's like being given a $100 bill with a turd on it. You're really
happy but....

Still beats the hell out of a weekend wrap up with Barry Thompkins!

Naw. Just a lack of historical perspective. Wide World of Sports did
show us Zootemelk and Hinault riding into Paris, and Van Impe attacking
Hinault and ???, with some pretty good commentary (ahem) by someone
else I can't remember who it was. Oy.

Discount the LANCETHIS/THAT a pretty good amount as he is the biggest
story by far in this year's Tour. Or-- should we just skip over that
first day's ITT?

I think "turd" is a little strong. How about being glad said C-note
doesn't have John Tesch's picture on it? And did you notice, KG is
almost gone? Hope for the future, there. --D-y

Beats the hell out of a turd with a quarter stuck in it - that's about
what we used to get pre-OLN.

If the Red Sox were Manny plus eight guys to literally carry water for him,
you better believe they'd yammer endlessly about him...

If you're a salesman, contact heather. Maybe she can give the rest of us
the videos she gave to Kurgan.
