Unless they were tethered, Kloden didn't pull him. He may have lead
him up the hill, but at the speeds they were climbing there was no aero
advantage to it. As I recall Landis took over the lead from a long way
out, ramping up the speed for the last few hundred meters, hardly what
you'd calling jumping him in the sprint.

For that matter, I wouldn't care if he had, nor do I care that Garzelli
jumped 'em all. It's bike racing. If you don't want to get
out-sprinted, then drop 'em.

I can't stand people who hate their own country so much that anything
that even remotely looks patriotic warrants a spew about patriotism.

Go back and finish your steaming pile of self-loathing, and wash it
down with a pint of Kumbaya!

Don't think Floyd minded getting jumped. Garzelli took the time bonus and
that meant Kloden didn't get it. That said Trautwigs comment was stupid.

Because any decent climber knows that someone setting the pace ahead of you
is a whole lot easier than setting the pace yourself. If you're following
all you need to think about is following. If you're leading you have to
wonder if you're going too slow and so that guys behind you are getting in a
lot of sleep.

What I'm implying is that you know flames are hot because you were burned at
one time. If you've never climbed with a fast group you wouldn't know things
like - Landis was climbing in some places at 40 kph - that's 24 mph and if
you don't think that you can get some gain by drafting someone at that speed
you obviously aren't a fast rider even on the flats.

Yep, there's an advantage, but it's small. Frankly, Landis had to slow
down to let Kloden ride in front of him. He could've dropped him if
he'd wanted. The real advantage to Landis was the psychological damage
done to Kloden, in that Kloden was riding his guts out and couldn't
hurt Landis. Pimping him at the line was just adding insult to injury.
