I think that they are next on the list of 'bent manufacturers to go
belly up!
The Farce 5 is just there lame way of trying to compete!
I might be totaly wrong but I think that Rans core business is
airplains and I think they will go with that and Nix 'bents.
Time will tell?
And Randy sure has a way with his costomers does he not?
What is this "Rans" company? 😉
Recall the large (percentage wise) increase in sales of recumbent from
1997 to 1998 (when the waiting time to purchase a new recumbent was
several months). It appears that several manufacturers assumed that the
same rate of growth in recumbent sales would occur for the next several
years. They signed up many dealers and increased the production
capacity. When recumbent sales leveled off, this left several
manufacturers overextended. [1]
The future of highracer sales is questionable, since most experienced
recumbent riders that are interested in a highracer have already or will
in the near future have purchased one. Additional sales volume will be
low unless the overall recumbent market grows faster than it has the
last few years. This will likely require selling to current upright riders.
[1] As an example, my "2000" RANS Rocket has a 1999 serial number but
the 2000 seat, which indicates that RANS ordered too many 1999 framesets.
