It's a sleeve which goes under the head of the screw that attaches your nylon gear wire guide to the
bottom of the bicycle.

Dave: it is not too late to install now. Without it, you may compress the Delrin? BB guide and
distort the piece. Don't forget to grease the threads on that bolt.

No, it's the _inverse_flux_capacitor_ drive plate. Without it, you can only travel

This is rec.bicycles.tech, not some foolish sci-fi thread. If you can't connect the picture to
bicycling or the Simpsons, there's no excuse for such frivolity.

I propose that all of you stop the silliness and and address the obvious technical questions: which
of the two parts is more difficult to machine, which consists of more raw material, and which is
worth more.

I have a fuzzy memory of an episode the included a toy, either a Santa Clause or possibly something
not at all holiday-related, that talked or played a recording that was just completely terrible. My
girlfriend likes things that do that, and I can't stand them. I always want to find the clip of that
and play it for her so she can see how I perceive those things...

Aha! I had one of those left over too. My cable guides are brazed on, but I always wondered what
that sleeve was for. Of course, I never throw anything away, so it's still in my misc junk box. I
didn't get the penny though. :-(
