  1. Beside all the "cycling related" topics ("Daytona 500 Shootout!! Tony,
Jeff, or Jr?" , "TK", "Animal Tom Kunich", "Just say NO to Bin
Ladin!!!!", ...) and the countless and boring LA-topics, did anyone
notice the Omloop Het Volk is already this saturday?

    Favourites?

    1. Boonen
    2. Eisel

I was going to say Gilbert but he's not in the FDJ line-up, which seems
    odd.

    Boonen
    van Heeswijk

Here I'm hoping there won't be a repeat. What are the latests forecasts?

    Steels

degr C, wind ENE 2-3 Bft, varying cloudcover but dry.

  7. It is hard to go past Boonen (figuratively & literally).
Apparently PVP (& McEwen) are recovering from bronchitis so don't like
PVP's chances. Hushovd has also been sick recently.
How about Stuey O'Grady or Steffen Wesemann?
Or one last hurrah for Ludo D? Robbie Hunter for an outsider?

  8. Also, thank you Kenny for posting about bike racing. Such a refreshing
    change.

I did, but I was later disqualified by the UCI for non-reg V-plow on the
    front of my bike.

    ....was carbon, too.

My pick? Depends, who is lining up for it?

When is Marco Velo going to make a breakthrough?

And Dekker is always waiting, waiting, waiting. He's good enough.

But I'd REALY like to see Slava go for it.

  11. Hey Blue Hen, do y'all still have a cycling "team"? I graduated in 82 with
a minor in bike racing (in reality, but not on paper)

  12. Wesemann doesn't participate.
Klier and Ivanov are the T-mobile leaders.

    He's focussing on Paris-Nice and Milan-Sanremo.
And i don't think he is the right kinda guy for windy races at 3°

Dekker The Elder is recovering from flu and in the meantime riding for
team DFL in Valencia. Boogerd was even DNF, reported "ill".

When I was an undergrad they didn't have one but in the last couple of
years they started one. I wasn't eligiable and I'm not at the school
anymore. I see them at local races, but I've never seen any of them on
    the local group rides.

My picks for the important upcoming contests:

    Van Heeswijk at Het Volk.

    Boonen in Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne.

Two years for Tyler in Colorado.

Would like to see LUDO or perhaps Baguet do well.
Does anyone know if Mr Racket is picking this up
    from Belgian TV?

I think his name his Raket. Listen to his song http://snurl.com/raket
(wma 32 kbps, Dutch lyrics, comic intentions).

  19. "Wesemann doesn't participate"
He's still down as no. 78 on the Omloop website.

Surely this is Thomas Voeckler's time to shine. Maybe not.
