If his people were smart, they'd get him on a Trek 5900 in USPS colors, and slap a flag jersey or USPS team kit on him. And get him out of those stupid color block shorts. Shorts should be BLACK, unless you're wearing team kit. :-)

Being 6' 4", it's rather iffy that a 5900, or any off-the-rack bike, would fit him well.
I would wager his Serotta has custom geometry.

Yeah, right. Make a guess how often a skier runs into a boarder, especially under the circumstance that the skier is a Secret Service man and the boarder is the dude he's assigned to take a bullet for.
BTW, did anybody notice the article on Drudge this morning entitled something like "Kerry unfit to be commander-in-chief according to his military colleagues"? which claimed that some overwhelming percentage of the officers and enlisted men in his old outfit said he was unfit? The article disappeared, and now the URL (http://www.cnsnews.com) can't be found.

Regardless of _everything_ else, it's nice that both candidates are bona fide healthy guys who exercise (tm).
The country does need some good examples about fitness. After all, if the Prez can make the time, what's your excuse?
Still, I think they could do more to encourage real participation in endurance sports.
Have heard it suggested by others that fitness-club memberships should be tax-deductible, and that up to $500.00 per year in athletic equipment should also be tax-deductible. Not sure what I think of these ideas; I've also heard it suggested (jokingly?) that we need a "fat tax!"

I'd be interested in an overlay of obesity and voting patterns -- I guess I'm not convinced either US political party has a monopoly on fat people.
Interesting (and scary!) stuff. The geographical differences are one thing, but the precipitous trend since 1985 is just relentlessly awful.
I would think obesity would be politics-neutral, too, but if you do find an overlay with, say, party registration or with the 2000 elections, post it. It might be good for a laugh or two, if nothing else!
