I am a long time lurker in this newsgroup. It seems like there has been considerable change in the tone and language used here in rec.bicycles.racing over the last eight years.
After thinking about the issue for a few moments, I began to wonder this; what purpose does this forum serve in today's enviroment? It certainly had it's place years ago when guys would watch bicycle competitions on the tele in Europe, and post the action here in real time.
I am of the belief that RBR could cease to exist in two years, and nothing would really change. Does anybody have any ideas on how the future could change how people use this newsgroup.
