  1. Hello All! This is my first post here so if I'm in the wrong spot, please excuse me.

My brother purchased a road bike and rode everyday for a couple of months but it wasn't enough. LOL! He entered and participated in a 100 mile run in the hill country of central Texas and his kidneys started to shut down at about 80 miles into the race.

He never wanted to ride again so, needless to say, he gave the bike to me.

I am curious what the bike is worth and I can't find anything on it on the net. Evidently, Falcon no longer makes quality road bikes. This one must have been made in the eighties by my best guess.

    The Bike:
Falcon triathlon '705 complete with Reynolds Steel 531 decals. The bike is totally outfitted for racing. It's in pristine condition.

What price range do you think this thing falls into?

  2. Wow, I would think that somebody knows something about this. I guess I'm not completely surprised considering the age of the bike.

Does anyone have any advice on finding out the value of the bike?

I don't wish to sell the bike. I ride everyday. I'm just curious what it's worth.

What kind of components are on it? Brand and Model. That'll be a clue.

Sounds good to me. Reynolds is a prestigous steel manufacturer. I don't really know anything about that model of bike, but I want to say that 531 is on the heavier side of their bike frames. Theres 520 and 631 and 853... I think 531 might have been a precursor to 631. Anyways I have no idea about its value but good steel frames are few and far between. Ride it for racing or training, and if you get another bike, you could probably convert it to a trouring bike.
