What makes a good candidate for a single speed conversion?

There were lots of lugged frames that were junk. You can do single speed with anything. Fixed ger is easier with a road or track frame with horizontal rear dropouts.

yeah, heck..I dunno. It's an old Raleigh Capri. The frame says Raleigh 410 steel. Any idea if it's any good? The fork is even lugged.

Oh yeah, it's a full Suntour group...not sure of the trim level though. To give you an idea of the vintage....the shifters are mounted on the shaft of the stem if that helps any.
