This one is from the first hit, and looks amazingly simple:
    http://appetizer.allrecipes.com/az/KttlCrn.asp

    INGREDIENTS:
    1/2 cup unpopped popcorn kernels
    1/4 cup white sugar
    1/4 cup vegetable oil

    DIRECTIONS:
Place the popcorn and sugar in a large pot with vegetable oil. Over a
medium heat, begin to pop the popcorn. Constantly shake the pot to ensure
that the popcorn kernels and oil do not burn. Once the popping has slowed,
    remove the pot from heat.

I've got a few lawn chairs and refreshing drinks will be delivered soon.

What are you talking about? What topics do you find offensive? What are
"these topics" that you refer to? Who are you? Where are you from? Why
are you here? What did you expect to find when you came here?

Please clarify the nature of your problem.

Regards and thanks for your kind consideration,

I have a recipe that uses a lot less oil, but is quite good.

    Stovetop Kettle Corn
    INGREDIENTS:
    4 tbs popcorn kernels
    1 tbs vegetable oil
    2 tbs sugar, white granulated
1 tsp salt, or to taste
    METHOD:
Place popcorn kernels and oil in deep saucepan. Cover. Heat over
medium-high heat until kernels start to pop. Wait one minute, then
sprinkle in the sugar, cover again. Agitate pan _frequently_ as corn
pops. When popping stops, sprinkle in the salt and toss well.
Serve immediately. Serves 1 to 2 people.

thanks, I've always wanted a recipe for kettle corn. I think I'll make
some tonite. I'll have a beer along with some dental floss for the
popcorn...and a seat in the second row.

What does your post have to do with cooking and recipes? I don't see
any cooking suggestions or a recipe. And to what topic(s) are you
referring? AFAICS, this is your first post to this ng and this is the
    best you can offer?

So? Double the amounts. Still less oil, but an equal amount of popcorn.
